A development site so local we can monitor from our office window!

Our clients and their projects take us the length and breadth of the country, but it is always great to work on developments that are close to our Burton on Trent headquarters.

And none come closer than the Branston Locks development site which we can literally see from our offices! In fact, we even use a couple of training boreholes in our car park to monitor ground water levels.

Branston Locks is a large-scale mixed-use development consisting of up to 2,500 dwellings, 93,000 sq m of employment floor space, 3,700 sq m of retail floor space, healthcare and residential care facilities, a hotel, school, and leisure facilities, plus associated green and public open spaces.

GRM was initially involved in some of the GI and the production of an earthworks strategy which fed into the drainage and flooding strategies, enabling planning permission to be granted. Since then, we have provided a wide range of services for various developers including trial pitting, window sampling, percussive boreholes, and soakaway testing to aid foundation, infrastructure and drainage design. Work is ongoing, with the next phase of investigation starting in July with similar services on new areas of the development.

If you have any development or construction projects, then please get in touch to find out how we can help and save both time and costs. Please use your main point of contact at GRM or for new enquiries email richard.upton@grm-uk.com or call 01283 551249.
