The location of our head office in Burton on Trent means we are fortunate to be surrounded by a number of leading Universities, all of whom run excellent geoscience and engineering courses. It is no surprise therefore that we always make a point of attending their career fairs and proactively recruit suitable graduates.
The University of Leicester is one such institution, and over the past decade we have recruited six graduates to a wide range of roles relevant to their degree and qualifications. And if we go even further back, then our MD Bill Peacock also studied his undergraduate degree at Leicester (way way way back, possibly during the Cretaceous).
Several of the team therefore jumped at the chance to attend and showcase GRM at the recent University of Leicester Science and Engineering Careers Fair, which also attracted some heavy hitters including JCB, Airbus and BP.
The fair was really well attended by engineering, IT and geoscience graduates and undergraduates. Those we spoke to were keen to find a role that utilised their degree and also kept them based in the Midlands.
Representatives from GRM included Courtney Blockley-Campton (on the left in the picture below), a Senior Geotechnical Engineer who himself graduated from Leicester in 2013 and joined GRM on our graduate training scheme. He was able to share his experiences of the scheme and his career progression through the company.
Details of current roles and information on what it is like to work at GRM can be found on our ‘Join the GRM Team‘ page.
